Vitru Educação Among the World's Best EdTechs in 2024

TIME and Statista Release Inaugural List of the World's Top 250 EdTech Companies: Vitru Educação Ranks Fifth Globally.

TIME magazine, in partnership with Statista – an international leader in market and consumer data and rankings – has released the list of the “World's Top EdTech Companies of 2024,” with Vitru Educação ranking 5th among the world's awarded companies.

The global ranking, which includes the top 250 EdTech companies in the world in 2024, primarily considered two factors: financial stability and industry impact. Among the Top 15 most successful EdTechs, nine are dedicated to digital education, demonstrating that distance education has firmly established itself.

Only two Brazilian companies are present on the list, with Vitru Educação being the sole representative of the distance education segment in such a prominent position. The countries with the most representatives are the United States, with over a third of the companies in the ranking, followed by China with 10%, and the United Kingdom with 6%.

“For Vitru Educação, being on the list of the world's best EdTech companies, serving around 900,000 students with quality digital education, is even more significant considering that Brazil still has a long way to go in national and international education indicators,” says William Matos, CEO of Vitru Educação.

Matos emphasizes: “Without quality digital education, it will be impossible to achieve goals and improve the country's educational performance. This is because a significant number of Brazilian municipalities rely exclusively on distance education to provide access to higher education: more than 3,000 cities depend solely on distance education to train their residents.”

Furthermore, the role of distance education in democratizing, expanding access to, and including more people in higher education is undeniable. Being on the World’s Top EdTech Companies 2024 list shows that Vitru Educação is at the forefront, combining quality and technology in favor of education.
